Live tracking tests
These tools actually run the same browser events Canvas listens for — nothing is mocked. Try them and watch the real events fire in your browser.
Canvas Tracking Test (live)
Attaches every event Canvas's quiz JS uses (blur, focus, paste, copy, keystrokes). Watch them fire in real time as you do them.
What Can Canvas See?
Interactive explainer. Click any student action (tab switch, incognito, VPN, second device, etc.) and see what Canvas records.
Copy/Paste Detector Test (live)
Paste, copy, cut, or type in the test field. Watch the events fire — then see what Canvas, Turnitin, and proctoring tools actually do with them.
Split Screen Detector Test (live)
See your window's focus state and dimensions in real time. Drag, resize, split, and watch what Canvas can (and can't) detect.

For when you want to understand a real (or hypothetical) quiz log without firing events yourself.
Quiz Log Explainer

Estimate how suspicious a quiz-log pattern may look based on tab switches, time away, clustering, and score.

Why we built these
Most "free GPA calculator" sites are SEO-spam: ugly forms, broken math, three ads per scroll, and questions about your email before you see a result. We built clean versions of the calculators students actually need, plus two unique tools you won't find anywhere else (Quiz Log Explainer + What Can Canvas See).
If you're here from a worry about a Canvas quiz log — what your teacher saw, whether tab-switches got logged — the Quiz Log Explainer and What Can Canvas See tools answer those exact questions. The same team makes Canvas Ninja, the Chrome extension that prevents the troubling entries in the first place.
FAQ
- Is anything saved to a server?
- No. Every calculation happens in your browser. The "Save as link" feature on the calculators encodes your inputs into the URL itself, not into our database. Nothing is uploaded.
- Do you charge for any of these?
- No. Every tool here is free, no signup, no email gate. Our paid product is the Canvas Ninja Chrome extension — entirely separate from these tools.
- Why are these specifically "Canvas" tools?
- The math is the same as any school's grade or GPA system, but the tools are written and worded for Canvas users specifically — with instructions for finding your weights in the Canvas Grades page, and explanations that match Canvas's exact event vocabulary. They work fine for non-Canvas students too.
- Which tool should I use to test tab switching?
- Use the Canvas Tracking Test. It shows focus, blur, and visibility events live so you can understand what a Canvas-style quiz page can detect.
- Which tool explains what my teacher can see?
- Use What Can Canvas See? for quick yes/no answers, or Canvas Quiz Log Explainer if you want to understand a quiz log entry.
- Can I suggest a new tool?
- Yes — email hello@canvasninja.app with what you'd want and we'll consider it. If it's frontend-buildable and useful to a real student need, we'll probably ship it.
